This doesn't have to be time consuming or hard. I'm sure we all know people who are going through tough times. Send them an email or give them a call or write a letter and just let them know you're thinking about them and will do whatever you can to help their situation. Or maybe it's complimenting a coworker or friend on their hair, clothes, or a job well done. We all like receiving kudos but why don't we hand them out too! Be a team player and help your coworkers. Stop thinking of it as "It's their job, why should I help? They never help me." Sometimes it takes one person to be nice for more to follow. Be a leader, not a follower. Volunteer your time with an organization that interests you. Use your skills to make a difference and at the same time doing something you enjoy.
Our world is full of sadness, depression, illness and some people don't have the support they need but we can help. One act of kindness can make a big difference in someone's life. Who knows, whoever you help may just be there when you need help next time.
