Yesterday was my house party for 31 Bits. If you aren't familiar with the organization, they sell jewelry made from recycled paper by women in Uganda. Check it out at 31bits.com.
I didn't have a huge turnout by any means but I still got a nice crowd that purchased more than one item and I sold a total of $682! (with more sales possible) Yay!
It wasn't hard to have a house party. All you do is send in an application with your credit card # (just in case you don't send the jewelry back) and 31 Bits sends you a box of jewelry to sell. Then you send back what you don't sell with the money. It's that easy AND you get to keep a piece of jewelry for yourself just for doing it!
This is a simple way to help those struggling in Uganda.
This is a simple way to support women who are trying to build a life for their families.
AND
This is a simple way to give hope and a future to those who need it desperately.
