Visualize

For about the last year now I have been exhausted and lacking energy and so far I haven’t had any luck finding out why. I read this paragraph in one of my exercise magazines and thought it would be useful for everyone. This “idea” can be applied to any part of your life where you need a boost.

“Olympic athletes who visualize themselves outperforming the competition win more medals. What’s their secret? Science shows that imagining that you’re performing an activity fires up the same parts of your brain that work when you’re doing it. Consider this study published in the Journal of Neurophysiology: A group of volunteers worked a finger for a month, while another group only imagined exercising it. The group that visualized actually improved the digit’s strength by 22 percent, while the group that exercised got a 30 percent boost. When you hit a slump, all you need to do is visualize yourself full of energy as you deliver a strong presentation at work, knock out an hour of power yoga, or fly through a huge pile of paperwork.” Women’s Health
